We arrived at the shelter at 3:30. The first thing we did was sign in, wash our hands and greet every  cat in the shelter. Then after that, we walked around to see which cats needed their house cleaned before feeding around five. Every time l walk into the shelter, I really think about how two years ago you would never catch me around cats. Being a part of this club gives me a chance to increase my volunteer  hours and pushes me to get out there and help animals get what they need to be. Cerise Anderson, sponsor of the PAWS Club takes the volunteers  to the shelter every Thursday so that the students will get a chance to be able to help the animals in any way possible.

“I wanted to give students the chance to be able to volunteer at a shelter because high school students do not really get the chance,” Anderson said.

The main thing we try do is to give love to the cats and dogs that don’t really have a home. I am able to learn new things everything’s everyday by working in the shelter. How to work with other people, to  not to do afraid of animals that need a little bit of love in their lives. Working with the animals that want a home and only want to be loved by someone gives me joy. This has made me not only want to help the other animals but to always help others in ways that I can.
